Maggie Burns is a 62-year-old lifetime resident of Johnson County, Iowa. Throughout her life she has had to cope with a bipolar disorder, and more recently, fibromyalgia. When asked how her disabilities impacted her art, she said, "Being bipolar is like being two different people in the course of a year. When I'm manic I do my best artwork and it's a wonderful way to focus all that energy in a positive direction. Then my muse will suddenly vanish and it might be 6-9 months before I'm able to do my best work and be prolific again. Throughout my life I've done mostly painting, oil and acrylic, landscapes and still life. When I developed fibromyalgia it sapped my energy, so I found it easier to work with photos on the computer using a photo editor. I take a photograph, upload it to an online photo editor, and modify the photo until it becomes something completely different and uniquely artistic. The possibilities are endless."
I have my own fine art photo printer so I'm offering superior prints. My prices are in keeping with print shop prices: Most prices are: 8.5x11" $50, 11x17" $65, and 13x19" $80.
