Susan Nevers, originally from Toledo, Ohio, moved from Burlington to Marengo, Iowa about a year ago. She works at a grocery store in Marengo and she lives with her mother, brother, and sister-in-law. She found her talent for art at Rural Employment Alternatives in Conroy, Iowa where they have art classes, and it's now an important part of her life. “I use art as a creative outlet and a form of leisure activity at home. I use music as well as art as a calming and coping mechanism,” she says. Susan presents as an intelligent, articulate woman with a positive attitude, and is clearly pleased to have found a new way to express herself through art.
